CHAMPS
Community Heroes: Advocate. Motivate. Persevere. Serve.
CHAMPS is Down Syndrome Alabama's young adult self advocates group. This group meets throughout the year at social events, educational presentations, and advocacy opportunities. Some of the CHAMPS gatherings include dance parties, bowling nights, dance lessons, and cooking classes. The CHAMPS group also delivers Christmas bags for teenagers at the Ronald McDonald House, has charity shoe drives, and serve as greeters and volunteers at our annual STEP UP for DOWN SYNDROME Walk.
The only requirement is that you have graduated high school and like to socialize and have fun! If you are interested in becoming a member of our CHAMPS group, fill out the form today!
